Ellis Lane is a community of single detached homes by Poetry Living, just north of Mayfield Road in Caledon. Mayfield is the boundary with Brampton, so the address is Caledon while the shops, schools and highway you use every day are mostly in north Brampton.

Caledon address, Brampton convenience

Buyers choose the Mayfield corridor for a specific reason. You get a new detached house on a full lot at a price below most of Mississauga, Oakville or Vaughan, and you are still five minutes from Highway 410.

The builder lists these drive times:

  • Sobeys on Mayfield: 4 minutes
  • Cassie Campbell Community Centre: 4 minutes
  • Highway 410: 5 minutes
  • Heart Lake Town Centre: 8 minutes
  • Brampton GO station: 15 minutes

There is no rail service in Caledon itself, so plan on driving to a Brampton GO station or all the way to work.

Price and deposit

Prices start at $1,167,490 with a deposit of $150,000 paid over 210 days. For comparison, the average resale detached home across the GTA sold for $1,288,669 in August 2026, and the Brampton average next door was $1,020,556. Ellis Lane sits between the two.

Property tax is worth a look. Caledon and Brampton are both in Peel Region but set their own municipal rates, so ask for the estimated annual tax on the model you like before comparing with a Brampton home.

Timing

Sales opened in June 2025 and the builder’s first completion date was March 2026. That date has passed, which means some homes may already be finished or close to it. For a buyer, that can be an advantage: you can walk through a built home, and you close in weeks or months, not years. Ask us what is left and when each lot closes.

Questions to ask

  • What lot widths are available, and what are the premiums for backing onto green space?
  • Is the grading and driveway paving complete, or scheduled after closing?
  • Are development charges capped in the agreement?
  • Which school boundaries apply, and are the schools open yet?

Closing costs at the starting price

Land transfer tax on $1,167,490 in Caledon is about $19,825, or $15,825 for a first-time buyer after rebates. New homes also carry builder closing adjustments such as development charges, utility connections and Tarion enrolment, which are set out in the agreement and are often capped on request. Have a lawyer review the agreement during the 10-day cooling-off period on a new condominium. The land transfer tax calculator and the HST rebate guide cover the rest.
