More Snow for Toronto & the GTA
Just two days after we woke up to a 20 cm of snow, more snow is on the way for Toronto and the west end of the GTA. If this wasn’t enough, Environment Canada has now issued a winter weather travel advisory for Toronto and the West GTA warning of up to 15 centimeters of snow by tomorrow morning. The areas that could be hardest hit includes the downtown Toronto, Southern Etobicoke, Mississauga Milton and Oakville. The snow is expected to start around 11 am or 12 am, today, but the heavy and steady snow will come later by the time we get to about 5 PM in the evening. We could start to see some accumulation by that time but the bulk of the snowfall happens overnight and into the early morning hours of Friday. Environment Canada had issued a winter weather travel advisory that commute this evening and Friday morning could be impacted. The routes, specifically mentioned in the alert, all in those areas likely to be hardest hit including
- Highway 403
- Highway 407
- Highway 427
- Queen Elizabeth Way
- Gardiner Expressway
Drivers being warned to give themselves extra time to get around. And once you’re done digging out from this mess, we could see more snow Sunday night.
