Trafalgar Highlands is a Coscorp community of townhomes and single detached houses at Trafalgar Road and Burnhamthorpe Road East. That corner is at the top of Oakville, close to Highway 407, in the part of town where most of the new housing is being built.
Close to move-in
Sales opened in August 2025 with completion estimated for fall 2026, which is now. Homes here are at or near the closing stage. That changes the kind of purchase this is:
- You may be able to walk through the actual house, not a model or a floor plan.
- Your mortgage rate can be locked for the whole period to closing.
- The deposit schedule is compressed. The builder set $100,000 within 120 days or $150,000 within 150 days, depending on the home.
Ask which lots remain and what each closing date is.
Price in the Oakville context
Prices start at $1,069,900. Across the GTA, the average resale freehold townhouse sold for $882,060 in August 2026. Oakville runs well above the regional average for every home type, so the regional figure understates what a resale townhouse costs here. Before you decide, compare with recent sales of newer freehold towns in the Preserve and Glenorchy, which are the nearest established neighbourhoods.
Getting around
The builder lists these drive times:
- Highway 407: 2 minutes
- Walmart at the Uptown Core: 4 minutes
- Sheridan College, Trafalgar campus: 8 minutes
- Oakville Place and Costco: 9 minutes
- Oakville GO station: 10 minutes
Highway 407 is a toll road, so if it will be your daily route, add that cost to your monthly budget. Trafalgar Road leads directly south to the QEW and the GO station on the Lakeshore West line.
North Oakville, honestly
This is a new part of town. Schools, parks and plazas are opening as the houses fill in, and some are not built yet. Buyers get new homes and good highway access. They give up the mature trees and walkable main streets of Bronte, Kerr Village and Old Oakville. Visit on a weekday evening to see how the area feels and how long the drive south really takes.
Questions to ask
- Are the townhomes freehold, and is there any shared-road fee?
- Which schools serve the site today?
- What is planned for the land directly behind and across from the lot?
Closing costs at the starting price
Land transfer tax on $1,069,900 in Oakville is about $17,873, or $13,873 for a first-time buyer after rebates. New homes also carry builder closing adjustments such as development charges, utility connections and Tarion enrolment, which are set out in the agreement and are often capped on request. Have a lawyer review the agreement during the 10-day cooling-off period on a new condominium. The land transfer tax calculator and the HST rebate guide cover the rest.
